These early brain changes point to a possible window of opportunity to prevent or delay memory loss and other symptoms of dementia. While nothing has been proven yet to prevent Alzheimer's, researchers have identified promising strategies and are learning more about what might — and might not — work.

The study analyzed 1,024 older adults and found that eating more than one egg per week was associated with about a 47% lower risk of Alzheimer's dementia over ~7 years of follow-up. Researchers found that eggs are rich in choline, an essential nutrient that supports brain health.
